Objective
Hartmann Studios came to e4 with the following criteria: They had already landed The Home Depot’s National Store Managers Annual Conference, but they wanted to increase the scope of work, increase the revenue while improving the overall quality of the Event. They wanted to bring in the vendors that sold there goods to THD and give them the following options.
a) The ability to rent an inline booth from one 10x10 up to a 10x50. They needed to be able to mount there products, plasma screens and graphics.
b) They also wanted the ability to design and deliver them any custom items for their booth such as pedestals, product bases, kiosks and work stations.
c) They also wanted to offer them the design and production of any size Island Booth, again with all types of graphics, product displays and mounting and AV opportunities.
d) They also needed two types of registration areas, overhead signage, directional signage and hotel signage.
e) The amount of set up and dismantle time was also a huge concern.

Solution
a) First we were able to give them photos and information for their online ordering service. This allowed each vendor to pick the size booth along with the type of infill. The standard in-fills included 39”x95” Black, White, Silver and Maple solid in-fills, Black or Maple Pegboard. They could also order 39”x95” graphic panels, Black or Maple Slat-wall, 3/4” Plywood with custom laminate, Faux Brick, and Mirror Acrylic. As you can see with the Matrix system the finishes are endless. Our system also allowed for the mounting of AV by way of our metal plasma plates that mount inside and behind any panel. We also have wooden mounts for the inside of our frames, thus allowing vendors to mount product such as heavy cabinets, mirrors, etc. We also set up a graphics spec page on there web site so we could insure that each vendor could set up the art work properly. Each graphic was produced and shipped in the frame to allow for accurate and quick set up.
b) We used our custom shop to produce various items to complement the matrix.
c) We designed and produced a booth for Scotts that used light green plex and a fabric roof to give the appearance of a green house. We took corrugated metal roofing and 2x6s to give the Husky booth a custom look. We also used faux brick in-fills on another booth to give them the look and feel they requested.
d) We designed and produced the registration areas with curves and angles 12’ tall with silver and graphic in-fills. We used 3’x10’x12’ towers with graphics for the main areas as directional signs. Then we used single frames with cargo feet for hotel and corridor directional signage.
e) Every year for the past 4 years we would end up waiting for carpet crews to complete their installation because of how fast we were able to install the frames. Also, every year we exceeded the dismantle hours and had to wait on trucks for the load out.
Result
The first year of set-up for this event, there were almost 100 infill changes. Due to the ease of panel removal and replacement, these last minute changes were simple and the project was still completed ahead of schedule!
